Over the last few years, WhatsApp has gone from being a messaging system to something that’s integral in our day-to-day business. There are many aspects to WhatsApp that are very useful, and yet rarely used. So here we are, listing some of the features it has that you may like to know about.
Using WhatsApp on your laptop or desktop is great for those who need to bring it into their day-to-day work life. For easy communication with colleagues via groups, it is also a very easy way to transfer large files between your phone and computer. Simple visit https://web.whatsapp.com/ and in a couple of steps you can download WhatsApp to your desktop.
WhatsApp for business allows your to add your own branding, business hours, and more information. It sets boundaries for customer communication, so you can use your own WhatsApp for personal use and leave the customer communication to working hours. Team members can also use it too as you can have one account for up to 4 devices. And you can use a landline number to set it up, keeping your mobile for personal use.
Someone may have sent you their address or you may have been talking about something specific but you don’t want to trawl through all of your messages to find what you’re looking for. At the top of all of your chats there is a search bar if you pull down. You can also search in specific chats too.
Sometimes certain words need more emphasis. WhatsApp allows you to make whichever words or phrases you want bold, italic or strikethrough them. Add an asterisk either side of the word or phrase for *bold*, an underscore for _italic_, and tildes for ~strikethrough~.
Do you visit customers frequently? Through WhatsApp you can ask them to send you their current location, which shares a pin that shows you exactly where they are. Click +, Location, Send your current location.
How many group chats are you in? Probably too many. Sometimes your nearest and dearest may get lost, but you can pin people or groups to the top of your list. Just swipe left to right on their name and choose Pin.
By using the microphone on the keyboard of your phone, you can talk and it will dictate what you’re saying. This feature is highly accurate and very fast.
As previously mentioned, everyone is part of lots of WhatsApp groups these days – work, friends, schools, and even neighbours. Mute the messages you don’t want or need to see straightaway. You can click on the contact name or group, choose mute, and select 8 hours, 1 week (great for holidays), or always.
